What a fantastic day we all had at our first Vintage Village Hall.
We didn’t know what to expect as it was our first one, but we were totally stunned by the enthusiasm of our stall holders and the people who came to visit. All the stall holders were amazing, they created a pop up museum almost and the crafting workshops were busy all day. There were loads of people who arrived in vintage outfits, even Denis McGeary turned up with a rather dapper suit and hat!
Rachel Martin did an amazing job of organising the bunting for the hall (Sarah at Cool Crafting made it for us) and the hall looked gorgeous. The tea rooms were very popular with the scrummy home baking and tea served in vintage tea cups and saucers, and proper cake forks. Period music on the record player added to the atmosphere and got a few feet tapping and dancing. Jo-Anne Helliwell and Rachel and Jenny Martin did an amazing job of those tea rooms. There was a lot of preparation and attention to detail, and the hard work really paid off. We have had incredible feedback and people begging for the next one!
We raised over £130 for the Urswick Playground appeal with our raffle, thanks for your generosity everyone. Of course the first prize vintage picnic hamper was very gorgeous, and everyone wanted it!
So the winners of the raffle prizes were:
Claire Flower won the hamper
Sam Atkinson won a £20 gift voucher for Tranquility
Anne Taylor won the whiskey
Gillian of the knitting stall won the wine
Helen Jacks won the bath set
When is the next one? We will let you know very soon, like us on Facebook to keep up to date
